What causes chronic Constipation

Chronic Constipation Breeds Many other Chronic Illnesses

In a healthy functioning Colon, evacuation is accomplished by muscles that line the Colon Walls contracting, thereby reducing in compass (shrink) the Colon in a wave like motion from the Cecum (entry from small intestines) to the Rectal Vault (exit) forcing stool toward the Rectum for evacuation.

This action is called peristalsis. Peristalsis is precipitated by communication signals through nerve cells between the Colon and the Brain. The Brain signals the Colon and Abdominal Muscles to activate which provides the evacuation process for the Colon.

Any interference or disruption of the signal process or weakening of the muscles necessary to Bowel Function results in Bowel Dysfunction. (Chronic Constipation) Some conditions are temporary, lasting weeks, months or years. Other conditions create a permanently Dysfunctional (Neurogenic) Bowel.

Why does the nerve signal process become disrupted or the muscles become weak?

The conditions may very well precipitate in the Colon. Most individuals fail to fully evacuate the Colon on a regular basis. It is a fact that few realize.

Ingested processed foods mixed with saliva hit the gastrointestinal tract like glue sticking in pockets to the walls of the intestines. When moisture is depleted the clinging food matter becomes encrusted and embedded into the mucosa of the Colon Walls... Mucosa provides lubrication for the evacuation process. The encrusted pocket of food matter diminishes lubrication and traps parasites and Candida albicans which become toxic.

This toxicity is transferred into the blood stream. Purification organs such as the Liver and Kidneys become overwhelmed. Damage will occur at some point. Once the damage is set it continues to intensify. Muscles grow weak and nerve sensors begin to atrophy. (degenerate) The Bowel looses its natural evacuation function. Environmental Colon Cancer may develop.

Disease, Injury, Medications, Immobility and Advanced Age are major contributors to weak bowel muscles and atrophied nerve sensors. Paralysis, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Bifida and Brain Damage are just a few examples of contributing conditions.

Chronic Bowel Dysfunction always places a burden of poor physical and psychological health on the body preventing individual freedoms of a wholesome lifestyle.

If the condition is not immediately treated, the elevated toxicity from the Colon absorbed into the blood stream results in Physiological Toxemia, creating a multitude of debilitating and potentially dangerous health issues. Unfortunately, hospital admissions can only remedy the emergency. Most are not equipped with long term solutions.

Too often proper functioning of the Colon is overlooked in diagnosis of other negative health conditions.

Anything related to feces is not a pleasant or popular topic. Too many feel their dignity is compromised by such a topic and area of the body. Too many are hesitant or embarrassed to discuss their bowel conditions with anyone including their physician. Such is the thinking in our society.

Failure to recognize the presence of a dysfunctional bowel and seek therapy ultimately results in unnecessary illnesses.

A healthy bowel will most often provide two movements a day. Everyone has different bowel transit times. Anything less than one thorough movement a day indicates a problem in the Colon.

In today’s society, many individual schedules are overloaded with demands of a full time career, social life and children with after hour’s activities. Bodily functions are rarely given necessary time for a natural course.

Bowel Dysfunction is a prime suspect in Obesity. Many unhealthy conditions come from imbalances in the Colon, as manifested by Inflammatory Bowel Disease; Ulcerative Colitis, Autoimmune Disease, Candidiasis, Allergies, Chronic Fatigue, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Frequent elimination of feces from the Colon is vital to balanced chemistry of the entire body.
A startling reality is that nearly one half of all sicknesses begin in the Colon. A disturbing variety of organisms are contained in what we eat and drink. Every living thing has at least one parasite living on or in it...

Chronic Constipation requires a long term Colon Maintenance Program that replaces the natural function and assist in restoration of natural function. In many cases (Neurogenic Bowel) natural function may never be fully restored. In such cases it is necessary for the Colon Maintenance Program to permanently replace the natural function of the Colon to provide a reasonable standard of overall health.

This provides difficult choices for both the patient and the Physician.

Laxatives, suppositories and Chemical Lavage medications or solutions are all toxic agents. All are temporary at best because of the undesirable noxious side effects which include Damage to Colon Mucosa, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Nausea, Cramping, Weakness, Dehydration, Depletion of vital minerals, Chemical dependency, Accidental Discharge, Irritation of the Gastrointestinal Tract, Rectal Trauma and a multitude of other objectionable and potentially damaging and long lasting effects.

None have proven to be a long term solution. Manual stimulation will ultimately lead to the development of fissures and other forms of trauma to the rectum.

Bowel therapy is indicated as an excellent detoxifier for overindulgence of drinking alcohol and drug addiction of all kinds.  Residues of drugs and other agents in the tissue are eliminated with Colon Hydrotherapy.

Fortunately, there is a process that is safe, effective and without noxious chemicals or side effects for treating Chronic Constipation. How the technology works so effectively is nothing short of astounding.

Specific Medicare coverage will be verified by PIE* Medical staff. Many variables exist with Medicare. Proper application is necessary.

It has been determined that Medicare and Medicaid cannot deny reimbursement for a necessary Medical Prosthetic Device.

Physicians must provide proper labeling and clear and comprehensive documentation of patient Bowel Dysfunction history including documentation of all pathologies applied, all processes administered and results of each and a conclusion that all have failed to provided effective long term results.

Criteria for determining necessity are:  Judgment of the attending physician must indicate the patient’s condition will be of long and indefinite duration and “a Medical Prosthetic Device is necessary to replace all or part of an internal body organ including contiguous tissue, or replace all or part of the function of a permanently inoperative or malfunctioning internal body organ. This does not require a determination that there is no possibility that the patient’s condition may improve sometime in the future.  Replacement or repairs of these devices are covered when furnished incident to physician’s services or order.
